LinkedIn Premium is an incredibly valuable tool for modern job seekers, but at upwards of $39.99 a month, it is rarely worth keeping active once you've landed your new role. Unfortunately, finding the cancellation button can be a maze depending on what device you used to sign up.
Method 1: Canceling via Apple (iOS App)
Did you upgrade to Premium while tapping through the LinkedIn app on your iPhone? If so, Apple controls your subscription. You literally cannot cancel it through LinkedIn's website.
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Tap your [Name/Apple ID] at the very top of the screen.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Find LinkedIn in your "Active" list and select it.
- Tap the red Cancel Subscription button at the bottom of the screen.
Method 2: Canceling on Desktop Web Browser
If you don't see LinkedIn listed in your Apple ID subscriptions, that means you signed up through LinkedIn directly. You need a laptop or desktop computer to complete this efficiently:
Log into LinkedIn
Open linkedin.com on a web browser and ensure you are logged into your Premium account.
Open Settings & Privacy
Click your small "Me" profile icon in the top right corner of the navigation bar, then select Settings & Privacy.
Subscriptions & Payments
On the left-hand sidebar menu, click on Subscriptions & payments.
Manage Premium Account
Look for your active plan and click Manage Premium account.
Cancel
Click Cancel Subscription and confirm through their retention prompts to finalize.
Keep Your Money When the Job Hunt Ends
Premium is expensive. When your job hunt is over, don't forget to cut the subscription. Trackery alerts you 2 days before that massive charge so you have time to go into your settings and hit cancel.
